The role of peer influence in rooftop solar adoption inequity in the United States

December 14, 2023

This webinar discusses the findings from the new Berkeley Lab study “The role of peer influence in rooftop solar adoption inequity in the United States” published in Energy Economics. Over a decade of research has shown that rooftop solar is contagious (in a good way). Households that install solar can influence their neighbors to install solar too. This webinar will discuss new Berkeley Lab research that extends that research to explore how solar influence works across household income levels. The webinar will summarize how researchers can study and quantify solar influence. The Berkeley Lab will discuss how influence varies across income levels and how influence interventions could be used to accelerate low-income rooftop solar adoption.
