Customer & Community Impacts
Analyzing emerging issues in distributed renewable energy and storage
Customer & Community Impacts
We evaluate how resources affect customers and communities, exploring a broad set of impacts and adoption drivers for distributed renewable and storage technologies.
Distributed energy resources present diverse benefits and costs to both host customers and communities. EMP’s research explores and quantifies these impacts, their drivers, and their effects on the adoption of distributed energy technologies. Past work includes analyzing rooftop solar effects on residential property values, assessing peer effects in residential and non-residential solar adoption, and researching the potential reliability and resilience benefits of distributed solar and storage.
