Wind

The EMP Group conducts in-depth analyses of the wind power market in the United States, focusing on the potential benefits, costs, and barriers to wind power deployment. Each year, it prepares the Wind Technologies Market Report for the U.S. Department of Energy. It analyzes technology, cost, price, and performance trends among wind project installations in the United States, along with broader industry developments and policy and market drivers.

The EMP Group supplements this report with additional research projects targeting the following topics:

  • Wind energy costs and benefits
  • Wind project finance
  • Public acceptance of wind power
  • Wind power valuation and integration
  • Policies affecting the wind market in the United States

This work is primarily funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
