This webinar summarizes key findings from Berkeley Lab’s recently published report, Income Trends among U.S. Residential Rooftop Solar Adopters. The study analyzes household-level income estimates for roughly 1.4 million residential rooftop solar adopters across the country, representing the most extensive analysis of this topic to-date. The study describes the income distribution of solar adopters over time and across states and other geographic scales. In doing so, the research compares solar-adopter incomes to the broader population of U.S. households, and also describes adoption trends among low and moderate-income households.
In conjunction with the report, Berkeley Lab has also developed a set of online data visualizations that allow users to further explore the underlying data presented in the report. Both the report, which is published in slide-deck form, as well as the data visualizations, are available at http://solardemographics.lbl.gov. We appreciate the funding support of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technologies Office.
