Analyzing emerging issues in distributed energy and storage

Customer & Community Impacts

We evaluate how resources affect customers and communities, exploring a broad set of impacts and adoption drivers for distributed energy and storage technologies.

Distributed energy resources present diverse benefits and costs to both host customers and communities. EMP’s research explores and quantifies these impacts, their drivers, and their effects on the adoption of distributed energy technologies. Past work includes analyzing the impacts of distributed energy on residential property values, assessing peer effects in residential and non-residential distributed energy adoption, and researching the potential reliability and resilience benefits of distributed energy and storage.
